The Higher Certificate in Paralegal Studies course is for those who wish to perform legal work through education and training. Qualified Paralegals look after their own clients and cases to a minimum of supervision but their work role is similar to that of a solicitor. Their duties include taking clients to the courtroom, client conferences, and working within commerce industry or the public sector. Some paralegals also represent their client before a District Judge or Tribunal. Paralegal skills can be valuable to the government departments, local authorities, courts, probation service and the police.
Career Path
The National Association of Licensed Paralegals provides levels of qualification for Paralegals.
